Opengear appliances are widely used in network infrastructure management, and sometimes it's necessary to find the serial number of a device. In this article, we will discuss the different methods to retrieve the serial number of Opengear appliances.
For the ACM7000, CM7100, and IM7200 appliances, the command below can be used to display the serial number.
showserial
However, for newer appliances like the OM1200, OM2200, and CM8100, the command has changed. Instead, you can use the following commands to retrieve the serial number:
ogcli get system/serial_number
config get system/serial_number
If you are an Opengear Lighthouse customer, you have another option to view Opengear node serial numbers. You can find them in the node tab of your Lighthouse dashboard. Simply navigate to the below and replace "x.x.x.x" with your Lighthouse IP address.
By using these methods, you can easily retrieve the serial number of your Opengear appliance. If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
