Alerts for managed and monitored UPS hardware (pre V3.5.1 firmware)
An Alert can be sent when there is a change in the power status of a selected Managed UPS or Remote UPS, or if the UPS battery level drops below a trigger threshold.
This trigger will email a message to a nominated email /SMS gateway, send an SNMP trap, send an alarm to a central Nagios server or triger a custom script.
The UPS to be monitored, the trigger condition and the alert destination are all configured on the Alerts&Logging: Alerts menu:
- Check UPS Power Status Alert and an alert will be triggered when the UPS power status changes between on line, on battery, and low battery. This status will only monitored on the Applicable UPS(es) you select
- An alert can also be sent out if the Battery Charge level on the UPs battery drops below a user defined trigger level. To activate select Environment and Power Alert specifying Battery Charge as the Sensor Type to alert on. Then set the levels (% charge) at which Critical and/or Warning alerts are to be sent. You can also specify High and/or Low Set Points for sending alerts and the Hysteresis to be applied before resetting off the alerts. Again this status will only monitored on the Applicable UPS(es) you select
Refer faq260 for a general overview of all the alerts and logging facilities
